FASHION TRENDS 2025: Exclusive and Sophisticated

The Resort 2025 fashion season kicks off with exclusive, refined shows that stand apart from the bustling Spring-Summer and Fall-Winter collections. Showcased during the summer, these collections hit stores by December, catering to holiday shoppers and boosting sales during the typically slow winter months.

Unlike the major fashion weeks held in global fashion capitals, Resort collections are unveiled in scenic, travel-inspired locations, inviting only select VIPs and A-list celebrities, making these shows a “limited edition” experience in the fashion calendar.

Elegant Boho-Chic

Chanel Cruise 2025 set the stage in Marseille, France, with beach-inspired motifs like nautical nets, starfish, and gold-plated shells. The collection featured modernized classic beachwear, such as one-piece swimsuits with hoods, and included a revival of boho-chic styles. Two-sided braids, loose curls, short bob cuts, and minimal makeup with striking eyes complemented the looks. The show highlighted tweed, crochet knits, and elegant details like bows, ruffles, and lace, evoking the timeless summer dresses of Southern France.

High-Utility Tomboy

Gucci Cruise 2025, presented at London’s Tate Modern Museum by creative director Sabato De Sarno, embraced tomboy chic with a romantic twist. The collection showcased unisex designs in subdued tones, featuring romantic elements like pearl-embellished shorts and oversized white jackets. This marked a shift from De Sarno’s previous minimalist approach, bringing vibrant colors, complex fabric combinations, and a hint of maximalism to Gucci’s heritage.

60s Classic Revival

The 1960s fashion revival, sparked by the series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, continued with St. John’s collection by Enrico Chiarparin. Collaborating with stylist Karla Welch, Chiarparin presented modern takes on classic styles, featuring sleek Nuda tops, pavé earrings, zebra-print bracelets, and luxurious crystal belts. These pieces offered a glamorous, yet cool California aesthetic reminiscent of Tom Ford and Julianne Moore.

Romantic Femininity

H&M’s Studio Resort collection, although not a luxury brand, gained attention with its sunset-inspired palette and versatile designs. Ann-Sofie Johansson highlighted the collection’s blend of elegance and practicality, suitable for both poolside relaxation and vibrant gatherings. Featuring organic silk, cotton, recycled polyester, and Lenzing EcoVero™ viscose, the collection also included eco-friendly brass jewelry, reflecting H&M’s commitment to sustainable fashion.
